Abstract

In the present essay, three issues will be addressed that are seldom considered in the activities of teaching and learning to research: conceptualizing the training of researchers as a sociocultural act; the challenging transition from being a student to functioning as a research apprentice, and finally, situating it as a sociohistorical subject and not just in abstract terms as it appears in methodology and didactics manuals. The text combines notes regarding the experiences of the teacher and the apprentice, some aimed at the task of teaching research at the university level in the field of anthropology, while others highlight the perspective of students and thesis writers.
