The main objectives of this research are to present readers with an in-depth exploration of the Master's Program in Applied Anthropology at the University of Quintana Roo, tracing its history in relation to the sociocultural development challenges in the region. This exploration presents both teachers and students with teaching and learning challenges, and consequently, new objectives to achieve, fostering more critical and sensitive students with solid methodological foundations to address the social, economic, and cultural challenges of the southern part of the state.
