The aim of this text is to understand how the image of Tepito as a neighborhood that resists and acts in the face of the city's development and growth has been constructed. This will be achieved through an analysis of existing literature, as well as through the voices of its people. This will help us briefly explain the origins of this emblematic neighborhood, as well as its social, economic, and cultural problems, developed through conversations with some of its residents. Having said this, we hope to encourage readers to engage in dialogue and reflection on a stereotypical view of Tepito.
